William Ray Griffin Jr., 71 of Hermiston died on Wednesday Sept. 10, 2014 at his home. He was born on March 16, 1943 in Pomeroy, WA to parents William & Etta Sodarburg Griffin. Bill was raised in Enterprise, OR. He has been a longtime resident of Hermiston. He married his wife Evalena on December 6, 1961 in Durango, Colorado. Bill was a member of Hermiston Amateur Ham Radio Club since 1988. Also longtime member Hermiston Eagles Lodge #2909. He had worked at Bert’s Auto Salvage & Woodpecker Truck as a diesel Mechanic. Also for Columbia Basin Spreader & Umatilla Ready Mix retiring in 2001.
His hobbies included camping, fishing and taking long drives in the mountains & watching NASCAR racing.
He is survived by his wife, Evalena Griffin; son, William “Joe” Griffin ; daughters, Raylene Pullum and Kaylene (Jim) Dickmeier both of Hermiston; Marlene Griffin of Baker City, OR; 19 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren.
