The October 2025 meeting minutes and November 2025 Secretary/Treasurer’s Report were distributed via email by J. Kelso on 11/03/2025. A motion to adopt the October meeting minutes was made by Kevin and seconded by Todd. The motion passed unanimously.
The November 2025 Secretary/Treasurer’s Report was read by Jeff.
Ongoing Business:
- Dennis provided a solar report to the membership.
- Testing – We have had no applicants this month, according to Kevin. He said that he will pull the sign-up down tonight.
- Ione Radio Class – Todd reported that there was no update on this topic.
- November Fourth Thing – Sam said that there was no update on this topic as the Fourth Thing had apparently failed to launch. Whitley mentioned that he is willing to take people up to the Club’s repeater site to show anyone who is interested in it around. Todd asked if the interference has gone away, but the consensus seemed to be that it may be too early yet to tell if the problem has been solved.
- Hermiston Chamber Membership – Jeff provided an update to the membership about our membership application and acceptance to the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber has offered us a radio interview on a Chamber Connection show, and Kevin and Michelle said that they would be willing to go on the radio to be interviewed.
- Election of Officers – The Officer nominations that were received before the deadline were Sam for President, Anna for Vice President, and Jeff for Secretary/Treasurer. Kevin made a motion to propose that we cast a unanimous ballot for the slate of officials. Whitley seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
- Winter Field Day – Abraham reported that he had met with the Sage Center management and feels that it would be a great place that includes overnight parking and a conference room with doors through which cables might be run. EOTEC is free, and the SAGE Center would cost the Club a couple of hundred dollars according to Abraham. After some discussion, Abraham made a motion to hold Winter Field Day at EOTEC. Rhett seconded the motion. Motion passed with one abstention. Kevin and Jeff will reach out to Al to book the date, which will be the last full weekend in January.
New Business:
- Kevin announced that he and Michelle have ordered a GMRS repeater today and will install it at their house and then take it along on the Wagon Train to further facilitate communications during that event. A long discussion of GMRS licensing, repeaters, and channels ensued.
- Rhett announced that the Frame Rates Net on Wednesday night at 9 PM has moved to the .78 repeater from the .02 repeater.
Announcements:
1. Club Breakfast – Saturday, November 15th at Rayz Dayz, Umatilla at 8:00 AM.
2. We will collect 2026 dues at the December HARC meeting. Dues can also be mailed to the Club’s PO box, which is #962.
The meeting was adjourned by AA7TH at 19:56.
Respectfully submitted by Jeff Kelso, W7JJK.
