Ongoing Business
1. During the April meeting, Whitley brought up the fact that the .02 antenna at the repeater site needs to be painted. Emery mentioned that the solar panel frame still needs to be fixed. It was decided that the .16 antenna would be swapped in for the .02 antenna so that the .02 antenna could be taken down and painted. Whitley wasn’t present at the May meeting, so the decision was made to discuss this at the June meeting.
Whitley wasn’t present at the June meeting, so the discussion was deferred to the July meeting.
2. There was some discussion about getting a repeater up at a State Forestry location, but no clear path forward was determined. The topic was brought up briefly at the May meeting but was tabled until the June meeting.
The topic was tabled for discussion at the July meeting.
3. It was said by AA7DD that Jeff Sak had gotten the HARC signed up with Amazon Smile.
4. The reporter from the EO is busy but will contact Ian for an interview for the article she is writing about him after he returns from his vacation.
New Business
NB7O talked about a need for operators to monitor the 78 repeater during the Wagon Train event.
Dennis stated that the club would need four or five volunteers to work the Fourth of July parade in Boardman. There was some discussion around the logistics of the parade, including the new route, new organizers, and the starting time of the event.
Dennis had tried to contact the Umatilla Fair Parade organizer to ask if they wanted the club’s help and hadn’t heard back from him yet.
There was a discussion about where Field Day would be held. Whitley had recommended Drift Fence and Don had recommended “anywhere in the mountains.”
Dennis thanked those who helped get his antenna tower up and some discussion about the details of the tower installation followed.
Dennis mentioned that Raez Dayz would be unable to accommodate the Club Breakfast on Saturday due to COVID restrictions. Don mentioned that we might be able to go to the Sunrise Cafe in Boardman. Dennis said that he would contact the Sunrise Cafe and would email the Club about whether the breakfast would take place or not.
AA7AZ asked about the insurance status of the truck that was donated by the County. The need for insurance was recognized by the Club and Dennis said that further discussion of the topic was warranted.
Meeting was adjourned by KI7CUS at approximately 19:35.
