The July 2025 Secretary/Treasurer’s Report was read by Jeff.

Ongoing Business:

  1. Dennis provided a mildly-terrifying solar report to the membership.
  1. Testing – Kevin said that we currently have no applicants for Tuesday’s test session.  Kevin will cancel the session.
  1. LCTOTA – Kevin and Michelle report that 5 HARC members participated in LCTOTA this year.  Dennis made 7 contacts, Chuck made 9 contacts, Kevin made 24 contacts,  Jim made 45 contacts, and Todd made 109 contacts this year.  Certificates were presented to all of the members who made contacts this year (minus Chuck, who wasn’t present) and pictures were taken of the group.
  1. 13 Colonies Event – Kevin reports that the event has ended.  Jim missed three of the colonies.  Kevin got all 13 on FT8 and CW, and missed only 2 on voice.  He also got a bonus station in Philadelphia and also one in France.  He encourages members to consider doing it next year.
  1. Pendleton Wagon Train – Kevin presented certificates of recognition to those who monitored the radios for the wagon train this year.  Also, Kevin mentioned that the Committee is offering two Friday rodeo tickets to each radio monitor and a gift is on the way.  Dennis monitored on Monday, Mike monitored on Tuesday, Todd monitored on Wednesday, Alan monitored on Thursday, and Jim monitored on Friday.  There were no major injuries or incidents during the event this year according to Michelle.
  1. Repeater Controller – Whitley reports that the controller is assembled and is ready to plug in and go.  The manual called for some testing to be done, and Whitley has completed that.  Some work remains to be done around programming and the software to program it with.  Jeff will obtain the software that the Club purchased and then we will work to get the controller programmed.   The Club will purchase an amplifier if the controller doesn’t resolve the interference issue.
  1. SK Radio Equipment – Kevin will go to Ida’s (Tom Martin’s widow) house in September to inventory Tom’s collection and bring it to the club.  If Kevin gets a list, he will put it on the club reflector for the club’s information.

     New Business:

  1.  A FEMA exercise is happening on Wednesday, July 9th.  Winlink messages are being accepted as part of the exercise and Kevin has forwarded  an email to the club mailing list detailing the event in case anyone is interested.
  1.  Parades – Whitley wondered if we were planning on helping out with the Fair Parade this year.  Dennis mentioned that the Irrigon Watermelon Parade is just before the fair parade.

Announcements:

       1.  Club Breakfast – Saturday, July 19th at Rayz Dayz, Umatilla at 8:00 AM.

       2.  Kyra has received a scholarship in the amount of $25,000 from the ARRL.  Many members congratulated Kyra on her achievement.

The meeting was adjourned by W7JJK at 19:42.

Respectfully submitted by Jeff Kelso, W7JJK.
