Ongoing Business
1. Dennis provided a solar report to the club.
2. Club logo update – Sam presented the logo design options that Ashbeck Design was hired to produce for the club. Sam asked the club members in attendance to vote on both the tower style and the lightning bolt design to send back to Ashbeck for rework as our final design choice. Design number 1, the detailed tower with four lightning bolts, was chosen by a majority of the members in attendance. Sam will take that design back to Ashbeck and they will work up some final product options.
3. Black Mountain repeater maintenance trip – Dennis asked for a show of hands of those who are interested in going up to the repeater on July 22nd. Those who expressed interest were Mike (SMT), Emery, Mike (MWK), Alan, Todd, and Tony. Dennis listed the tools that he’s planning to bring and asked for people to volunteer to bring other tools and supplies that may be needed. Members also shared ideas for tools and supplies for those going on the trip to bring with them. A discussion about tasks to be accomplished at the repeater site ensued. After that, a discussion of transportation arrangements ensued and a meeting location (Cutsforth Park) and time (9:00 AM) were established.
4. Board of Directors election – Whitley Smith was the sole nominee. Kevin moved that a unanimous ballot be cast in favor of Whitley’s election and the motion was seconded by Mike (SMT). Motion passed unanimously.
5. Wagon Train – Kevin said that the Wagon Train event was very successful and also read a nice note from the committee chair and secretary of the Wagon Train committee. Kevin reiterated that ham volunteers’ participation was much appreciated and that volunteers would receive rodeo tickets as a thank-you gift from the organization.
6. Alan proposed that a meeting be scheduled for those who want to participate in the Good Shepherd Hospital project. Alan said that Matt Moore of Good Shepherd should be invited to the meeting as well. Alan volunteered to spearhead that meeting and proposed some ideas for topics to be discussed at the meeting, mostly around antennas and antenna installation.
