Learning morse code and ham radio was an interest I wanted to pursue "someday". 50 years later"someday" came - I got licensed on May 15, 2020. The Amateur Radio Service and hobby is even more interesting than I had imagined. With the help of the kind Elmers (mentors) in this club and elsewhere, I was able to eliminate much of the frustration that can occur in the first steps after getting licensed. Last week I got my first HF radio and I am working on developing my operating skills and knowledge to serve with ARES/RACES if needed.
