Douglas Paul Garman, age 74, was welcomed into glory on March 13, 2018, receiving his ultimate healing, leaving cancer behind and defeated.
Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, Doug graduated from Lincoln High School. He studied at Central Bible School, then transferred to Northwest College in Kirkland, Washington, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies in 1969. He was ordained as a minister of the gospel through Kenneth Copeland Ministries. He worked at Boeing as an aircraft electrician and HVAC technician from 1988 until his retirement in 2006.
His life-long goal was to share God’s love wherever he was. Many know him only as the mystery stranger who paid for their groceries. Others remember the father-figure who stepped in to support and mentor them when their life was falling apart. Those who knew him best remember him always in prayer for those he loved and seeking God to direct each decision.
Doug is rejoicing in reunion with his parents, Paul J and Verna Evelyn Remmen Garman; and his sister Margaret “Peggy” Pope. He is survived by his loving wife, Geraldine “Gerrie” Loretta; his children Dwyane (Deanne), Daniel (Cris), Deborah Gatchel (Daniel), Dawn Kidder (Troy); and step-children Kimberly Roberts (Will), Michael Crume (Shelly), and Suzy Crume; plus 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
