The November 2024 meeting minutes and December 2024 Secretary/Treasurer’s Report were distributed via email by J. Kelso on 12/02/2024.
A motion was made by Todd to adopt the November meeting minutes as presented and it was seconded by Dennis. The motion passed unanimously.
The December 2024 Secretary/Treasurer’s Report was read by Sam.
Ongoing Business:
- Dennis provided a solar report to the membership.
- Testing – Anna read NB7O’s testing report to the club membership. One applicant successfully passed the Technician exam on December 10th. In 2025, testing will remain on the second Tuesday of each month.
- Winter Field Day 2025 – Anna presented an idea to send letters or postcards to local hams. Another idea was to schedule a block of time at the event and invite Umatilla and Morrow County ham operators. There was general agreement among the members present that a presentation, social time, tech help table, and a test session would be beneficial if organized by volunteers. Todd made a motion that the club send postcards to the licensed hams in Umatilla County and Morrow County. Motion seconded by Jeff S. The motion passed unanimously.
- Ione School Ham Radio Class – Todd reports that two of the classes have been completed and that a third is scheduled for December. The school is purchasing radio equipment and may be able to add infrastructure while the school is under construction.
- Wednesday Night Net – Rhett reports that the Framerates Net is now held at 2100 on the .02 repeater. Some discussion ensued that suggested that the net might move to the 146.78 repeater in order to allow for more participants.
New Business:
- The members discussed the request made via email by a Hermiston resident to help track down some possible interference that is preventing her garage door opener from functioning correctly. Sam was the only club member to reach out to the resident. Emery said that he would be interested in helping.
- Lynn with the Weston Mtn. Digital Radio Association (W7NEO) reached out to the Club via email to ask if HARC would object to being listed on their new website. Sam asked the members in attendance if there were any objections. None were heard.
- Jeff S. proposed that a 6m repeater could be discussed by the club in the future. He may have access to land that could host such a repeater.
Announcements:
1. Club Breakfast – Saturday, December 21st at Rayz Dayz, Umatilla at 8:00 AM.
The meeting was adjourned by AA7TH at 20:02.
Respectfully submitted by Jeff Kelso, W7JJK.
