The April 2024 Secretary/Treasurer’s Report was read by Jeff K.

Ongoing Business:

  1. Dennis provided a solar report to the club.
  1. Testing update – Kevin reports that we have no applicants for tomorrow’s testing session.  Kevin will probably call a short meeting of the examiners in the near future to see how our group might want to move forward in light of the fact that most people just want to test online these days.  Kevin will come back with a report for the club after that meeting.
  1. Jeff Sak said that he’d be happy to share his progress on his HF amplifier with anyone who is interested after the meeting.
  1. Kevin mentioned that the Pendleton Round-Up Wagon Train is happening June 24th through the 28th.  Kevin said that he needs two people to cover shifts on Monday and Tuesday.   Alan volunteered to cover Tuesday.  Wagons typically leave at 9 AM and return as late as 15:30, according to Kevin.
  1. Kevin reports that he has successfully registered the club for the Lewis and Clark Trail on the Air event.  Kevin has reached out to the event organizers to obtain more information and hasn’t heard back.  Soon, he will go online to try to reserve a 1×1 callsign for the club to use during the event.  Kevin displayed the spreadsheet that he has created to track HARC members’ activity during the event and will send out links to the spreadsheet and to more information about the event to the club mailing list.

     New Business:

  1. Umatilla Landing Days is the same weekend as Field Day.  Sam says that if we do Field Day, we will not be staffing the Umatilla Landing Days parade.

Announcements:

       1.    Club Breakfast – Saturday, April 20th at Rayz Dayz, Umatilla at 8:00 AM.

  1. Sam mentioned that he will be absent for the May meeting.
  2. Sam mentioned that SSRA is having a swap meet on May 4th at Confluent, 285 Williams Blvd, Richland.
  3. Todd announced that the Oregon Trail Rally will be happening on May 17th through May 19th, and the organizers are looking for amateur radio operators to man certain posts along the route.  Todd says that interested operators should use the event website to sign up.  https://oregontrailrally.com/

The meeting was adjourned by AA7TH at 19:42.

Respectfully submitted by Jeff Kelso, W7JJK.
