The March 2025 meeting minutes and April 2025 Secretary/Treasurer’s Report were distributed via email by J. Kelso on 04/07/2025.

A motion was made by Kevin to adopt the March meeting minutes as presented and it was seconded by Todd.  The motion passed unanimously.

The April 2025 Secretary/Treasurer’s Report was read by Jeff.

Ongoing Business:

  1. Dennis provided a solar report to the membership.
  1. Testing – Kevin said that we have no applicants for tomorrow’s test session.  The next session will be on May 6th.
  1. LCTOTA – Kevin reports that the event will run from May 31st thru June 15.  There will be a meeting of the organizing committee on the 29th of April and Kevin will distribute more information after that meeting.  Michelle and Kevin will be out of the country until the 28th, so Kevin might need backup on the Zoom meeting.  Jeff volunteered to act as backup if needed.
  1. Pendleton Wagon Train – Kevin says this year’s dates are June 22nd through 28th.  He’s looking for people to monitor the .78 repeater from June 23rd through June 27th.  The location of the wagon train is still TBD.   Mike volunteered for the 24th and Todd volunteered for the 25th.
  1. Ione School Ham Radio Class – Todd had no updates as the class is on something of a hiatus. The teacher will probably pick it up again near the First of May.
  1. The Fourth Thing – We didn’t do anything in March, but if anyone has ideas for April, please let Sam know.  Kevin mentioned that he’d like to set up a POTA activation in the future that Club members could attend and operate at.

     New Business:

  1. Summer Field Day location – Whitley proposed Drift Fence and Todd seconded it.  Motion passed unanimously.
  1. Repeater interference – Emery reports that the interference from the .425 DMR repeater has grown in strength and has interfered with a discussion or two on the .02 repeater.  Some history and background on the issue was discussed, and then options for remediation were discussed.  Whitley made a motion to turn the power down on the repeater to 5W for a period of two weeks to see if it helps to alleviate the problem.  Seconded by Emery.  Motion passed unanimously.  President Sam said that we should send out an email to ask everyone to monitor the repeater to see if the drop in power will impact reception.
  1. Anna asked those present if they were members of ARRL.  Membership was signified by a show of hands and Anna recorded who were members.  The purpose of this question was so that we can report the number to the ARRL when updating our ARRL club affiliation information.

Announcements:

       1.    Club Breakfast – Saturday, April 19th at Rayz Dayz, Umatilla at 8:00 AM.

The meeting was adjourned by AA7TH at 19:58.

Respectfully submitted by Jeff Kelso, W7JJK.
